All our shaker style doors are bespoke, meaning we can build exactly what you have in mind for your home.
You can pick the timber, decide on the detailing and finish, and we can accommodate any specific requirements you
may have. If, for example, you have French doors in mind but would like wider than standard rail and style (frame),
allowing for more glass, and less doorframe, that’s no problem for our expert craftsmen. Some of the main

Sizing
Doors come in standard sizes – but many homes do not. If you require a door with specific, non-standard, dimensions, we can create it.
Finish
Our shaker style doors can be provided primed or unprimed, or if you’d prefer, we can apply waxes, oils, lacquers and varnishes to provide protection and enhance the wood’s natural beauty. Alternatively, if you purchase a pre-hung doorset (meaning we provide your door already in its frame, and ready to install in the gap), we can save time by painting your door for installation.
Timber
Woods are differentiated from one another not just in looks, but in durability and the way they age. We have a wide variety of timber available for our customers that range from traditional favourites like oak to groundbreaking modern innovations that may be suitable if your door will be exposed to heavy weathering conditions.
Glazing
Whether you would like French doors that look out onto your patio, or a front door that you can see through, we can provide glazing services that adhere to safety standards, technically suited to where it is installed, and which complements your door style.
Ironmongery
Ironmongery allows you to style your door using ‘door furniture’ in a variety of interesting ways, giving you control over elements like house numbers and letterboxes. Also, it includes more functional things like bi-fold mechanisms and hinges. In either case, we can offer advice on what will work with your shaker door and source the best products from our trusted suppliers and manufacturers.
Style and detailing
When you choose to commission a bespoke door, you can style it in virtually any way you want. This includes the use of mouldings, decorative grooves, timber veneers, and artisanal creations like marquetry. This means you can alter your shaker style door to reflect any style and period you wish.
